City Hall Toronto - City Hall Toronto information and pictures
City Hall is the New City hall building located on Nathan Phillips Square. The City Hall is a very modern shell shaped building designed by Viljo Revell and build in 1965. The architect died before the building was completed and there is a commemorative column dedicated to him.
Nathan Phillips Square and the City hall are very popular tourist attractions. The square is a venue for lots of concerts and entertainment and during the winter the pool and the fountains become an ice rink. Every year during the holiday season from middle of November to middle of December Nathan Phillips Square is illuminated by 100,000 lights.
The Cavalcade of lights show is a display of fireworks and lights that set Nathan Phillips Square aglow every Saturday night. A giant Christmas tree is set up in the middle of the square. This is a must see show if you are visiting
