Museum of Natural History (Naturhistorisches Museum) – and its twin
Kunsthistorisches Museum were commissioned by Emperor Franz Joseph I. They are situated on
Ringstraße opposite from each other and were designed by Gottfried Semper and Karl Freiherr von Hasenauer.
Naturhistorisches Museum is considered one of the most important museums in the world with over 20 million objects.
The visitor can admire the collection of precious stones and minerals, dinosaur fossils and prehistoric art.
