National Art Gallery of Canada overlooks the Ottawa River and the Parliament Buildings and it has an impressive award winning glass building with two octagonal towers. The NGC was created in 1880, and is among the oldest national cultural institutions.

The National Gallery of Canada has a permanent display of Canadian Art, Indigenous Art, European, American , Asian art and Contemporary Art. The NGC also has a collection of paintings by Tom Thomson and the Group of Seven.

1 May – 30 September
Open daily, from 10 am to 5 pm, Thursday to 8 pm.
1 October – 30 April
Open Tuesday to Sunday, from 10 am to 5 pm, Thursday to 8 pm.
