Hofbräuhaus is one of the major tourist attractions in Munich. Hofbräuhaus offers everything the traditional beer garden will offer.
In 1589 the Bavarian Duke Wilhelm V founded Hofbräu which means Central Brewing house. They began producing beer for the royal clientele but by 1610 the demand grew and the brewery expanded beyond the Bavarian aristocracy. The Hofbräuhaus has been at its present location since 1828. It has been almost destroyed during the World War II but rebuilt in the late 1950s.
Hofbräuhaus is the most famous beer hall in Munich with 2000 seats in the Beer hall and 700 in the garden. The waitresses are dressed with traditional dirndls and the waiters in lederhosen; there is a live Ooompah band and a dance floor. The service is fast and efficient and the experience is great. During the summer you can enjoy the shady outdoor beer garden with chestnut trees. Hofbräuhaus is a must see landmark not only for beer lovers but for everyone who goes to Munich.
