USA or the
United States of America is situated on the North American continent and borders with
Canada,
Mexico, the Atlantic and the Pacific Ocean. The country is a federal republic of fifty states and the federal District of Columbia. The capital Washington is situated in the federal district and has a population of more than 6.5 million residents. Other large cities include: Chicago, Houston, New York, Philadelphia, and San Francisco, among others.
In view of its vast territory, travelers can visit USA the whole year around. USA is a very diverse country both culturally and geographically and is visited by millions of tourists every year. If you decide to visit USA you can choose one of the many national parks like the Grand Canyon, the Death Valley, Yellowstone National Park or
Sequoia National Park. A
cruise is an excellent choice to explore Alaska and be amazed by its wild life and beautiful sceneries.
If you prefer to stay in the city you have many destinations to choose from. You can visit

A country of immigrants, the cradle of capitalism is known as the New World. The country is also famous for the Pilgrims, Native Americans, the Baby Boomers, Hollywood, the Broadway shows, the Simpsons, rock’n’roll, American football, and much more. In short, USA stands for outstanding cultural diversity. The American art scene boosts painters such as Jackson Pollack, Barnett Newman, Richard Diebenkorn, and Franz Kline, among others.
The country boosts a combination of diverse architectural styles. The southwestern adobe pueblo style is an indigenous style with remarkable influence on the 17th to 20th century US architecture. Although influenced by the English and European styles, this architectural approach focuses more heavily on neoclassicism. The Virginia State Capitol, for instance, was designed as to remind a Roman temple. The federal style, established by Charles Blufinch, turned into a model for the construction of state legislatures. US Capitol is one of the most remarkable examples. The Greek- and the Gothic-Revival styles have been incorporated in many church buildings. As of skyscrapers, the
Sears Tower in Chicago, 1730 feet in height, is the tallest building in the United States.
The USA holds many national celebrations such as Thanksgiving. Visitors will taste a traditionally uniform menu: roast turkey, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, and many deserts such as pumpkin pie. Other big holidays include the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Easter, and St Patrick`s Day, among others. Barbeques, potato salad, beer, and fruit pies dominate the festive events.
