Statue of Liberty was a gift from
France to the
United States for the 100-th anniversary from America’s independence. Lady Liberty was the first sight millions of immigrants saw when arriving into the New World by ship.
Designed by the French sculptor Frederic Auguste Bartholdi Statue of Liberty has become a symbol of the Free World and America. Gustave Eiffel made the steel structure of the Statue of Liberty as well as the
Eiffel Tower in
Paris. The total height of the statue from the base of the pedestal to the tip of the torch is 305.6 feet or 93.14 meters. Maybe many of you don’t know that the exterior of the statue of Liberty is copper and the green color is actually a patina which is the natural weathering of the copper.
You can get a ferry to Liberty Island and explore the Statue of liberty museum and enjoy the Manhattan skyline from the observation deck.

Staten Island ferry – it is a free 25 minute trip to Staten Island.
